Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Introducing EXOMIND®
Strengthen Your Mind
I am pleased to offer transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment in my practice. TMS is a noninvasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells and has been used for the treatment of depression for over 40 years. Traditionally, TMS is used when patient has failed multiple medications for depression for at least a year and involves a protocol that requires over 30 sessions.
Now, there are TMS machines that utilize stronger magnets, such as the Exomind TMS machine at my office and additional protocols that require less sessions that utilize more frequent electrical pulses. We utilize the Exomind TMS system, which supports these newer protocols and allows for a shorter and more time-efficient treatment course in comparison to traditional approaches. This provides an opportunity to utilize TMS as first-line treatment, either before or alongside medication and/or psychotherapy.
